Young Leaders Award – Year 5

I am really excited to tell you that our year 5 children will be taking part in the Key Stage 2 Young Leaders Award this year. We’re really thrilled to be involved in this programme which has been designed and written by the Archbishop of York Youth Trust. For more information visit www.abyyt.com.

The Young Leaders Award aims to equip young people to ‘be the change they want to see’ in their local communities, and through a number of interactive lessons and practical challenges our pupils will be involved in serving their community and making a difference.

We will be starting the programme in October and look forward to all that our pupils will learn and achieve. There may be opportunities for parents and family members to get involved in the community action projects that will take place later in the year, and we will be in touch with more details nearer the time.  Please rest assured that all challenges and projects will be fully Covid-secure. Pupils may also take part in small challenges at home to help their family or neighbours – once again, we will let you know what is involved and make sure that all suggestions are safe and Covid-secure.

At the end of the award each student will receive a certificate. Thank you in anticipation for your support with this exciting project.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Rowe
