Wednesday 22nd April

On Wednesday we have Maths, P.E, English and Geography.

Maths

First of all, investigate the number 22! Next, stand up and say your 7 times table. Then do lesson 3 on the white rose maths/ home learning website. Remember to watch the video clip and then complete the worksheets.

P.E.

Take part in the P.E. session with Joe Wicks.

English

We are going to be continuing to write our biographies. It has been lovely to read your opening paragraphs! Next, you need to write the key events in time order. Take a look at the Roald Dahl paragraph below.

Roald Dahl was born in Llandaff, South Wales on September 13th, 1916. Dahl’s parents, Harald and Sofie, were Norwegian. Dahl was named after the polar explorer, Roald Admundsen. He spoke Norwegian at home with his parents and his sisters: Astri, Alfhild and Else. As a child he spent his summer vacations visiting his grandparents in Oslo. He went to a boarding school which provided some of the inspiration for his later stories.

This paragraph is then followed by one about his life after leaving school and then one about how he became an author. Think about how you are going to organise your paragraphs and have a go!

Geography

Before we start our topic for this term, I thought it would be useful to look at how to read a map and use a compass. There is a lesson on the BBC Bitesize website that does just this. If you click on the daily lessons then on the Year 4 lessons you will see the Geography introduction to maps lesson. Have a look at it and tell me what you think.
