Tuesday afternoon 31.3.20

Good afternoon everyone,

It’s been nice to have the sunshine back this morning! Here’s the outline for this afternoon:

1.30 – 1.50: Reading skills

Either read (if you have a copy) or watch ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75NQK-Sm1YY Then use the sorting cards to put the events from the story back in order. This activity will also help you with reading and ordering the days of the week! T-T-1220A-The-Very-Hungry-Caterpillar-Story-Sequencing-8-per-Page

1.50 – 2.40: Science

Have a go at the activities on this website: http://resources.hwb.wales.gov.uk/VTC/minbeasts/eng/Introduction/default.htm Start by clicking on the ‘starter’, and then go through each stage of the lesson (main session 1 and 2, then plenary). The activities are quite tricky, but I think a suitable level of challenge for lots of you who are very knowledgeable about minibeasts!

This is an easier activity if you prefer, where you can complete the life cycles for lots of different living things: https://stormedapps.co.uk/lifestages/lifestages.html

2.40 – 2.50: Story time

Find a good book from your collection at home and enjoy a lovely story time. Maybe you can go outside for this.

2.50 – 3.10: Daily Mile/ outdoor activities

This may be a good opportunity to carry on making a minibeast habitat or to do a second natural sculpture. Maybe you could collect natural materials and make a collage? You could do a minibeast collage using only natural materials!

Enjoy!
