Tuesday afternoon 27.4.20

Tuesday afternoon is reading skills, science, story time and the daily mile.

1.30 – 1.50pm: Reading skills

Read ‘An Alphabet’ by Edward Lear. It is another example of a nonsense poem! Do you like it? Now, find the letter that starts your name and write your own version of a verse so that it fits with the style of the poem but uses your own ideas! t-l-51798-an-alphabet-by-edward-lear-poem-print-out

Edward Lear wrote a lot of nonsense poems. Maybe you could research him and find some more poems written by him.

1.50 – 2.30pm: Science

Watch the BBC class clips about plants and what they need to grow. You can also try the quiz to check if you’ve been listening carefully! https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zpxnyrd/articles/zxxsyrd

If you have been fortunate enough to be able to plant some seeds, go and have a look at how they are doing. Now might be a good time to give them some water. Can you see anything growing?

See if you can complete the sheet: au-sc-2046-plants-need-activity-sheet-english_ver_5

2.30 – 2.45pm: Find a good book and enjoy a lovely story time. Have you got any books which have plants in them?

2.45pm onwards: Go for a walk with an adult or enjoy outdoors time. Did you make an obstacle course? Maybe you could have another go at this or see if you can create a new course with different activities. If you have chalks, you could mark out a hopscotch grid on your patio and challenge a family member to a game! (Ask your adult before you go chalking!!)

Enjoy your afternoon, everyone.
