Thursday 11th June

Good morning everybody, I hope you are all well and ready for today.

Morning maths:

This morning I would like you to practise telling the time.  By the end of year 2, you need to be able to could around the clock face in 5s and read times such as 3:50 or 10 minutes past 4. Have a little practise on this teaching clock.

You have now finished researching the amazing animals you have chosen.  You have today and tomorrow to turn your notes into a report about your creature.  You may want to make it into a book or do this on the computer, the choice is yours.

Make sure you include these features:

  • Title
  • Introduction
  • pictures
  • captions
  • sub headings
  • paragraphs
  • interesting facts

I am really looking forward to seeing your finished work on Friday.

Spellings:

Please practise your spellings, it’s your last chance today!

Have a look at this reading comprehension about famous people who have explored the oceans.  Comprehension 1 is the trickiest.

Thursday afternoon is our RE lesson.

We have been thinking about the creation story and about our natural world.  Have a little look at this story about caring for nature.  It is a Buddhist story called ‘Prince Siddhartha and the Swan.’

You make a poster about how to care for a pet or perhaps research which creatures are endangered and why. If you want to, you could look at the work of the RSPCA or World Wildlife Fund.

Have a lovely day everyone.  I hope you all enjoy your work today.
