Our Science topic is changing materials. Part of today is going to be practical. Firstly, I would like you to look at the Knowledge organiser. This will be useful for the next set of lessons so if it can be downloaded and printed for reference that would be good.

The Lesson Plan Properties of Materials is the sheet I would have used for guidance so your parents can look at this for help.

We will start the lesson by feeling in feely bags for different materials and discussing the vocabulary we need to describe them.

Then use the Differentiated Material Properties and Definitions Activity Sheet to identify the correct definition to the relevant material. These are differentiated so choose the best one for you.

Then I’d like you to try testing some materials. You may not have the suggested materials at home but these can be adapted. Don’t worry if you can’t do all of this. Use the Differentiated Testing Properties Activity Sheet. This has instructions on it. After completing this try the quiz.
