Responses During Diversity Week

I have been so impressed with the quality of reflective work coming from Room 8 pupils during our diversity week. It has been genuinely moving to read some of your poems and look at your creative responses to the themes.

Here is Bella’s poem:

Bella’s SPECIAL Poem.

SOMETIMES I WANT TO FIT IN, SOMETIMES I JUST WANT TO BE ME

PRESSURE COMES FROM EVERYWHERE TO BE WHO THEY WANT YOU TO BE

EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, WHY ISN’T THAT OK?

CAN’T WE ALL JUST ACCEPT THAT WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN WAYS

I LIKE TO BE BY MYSELF SOMETIMES, IT MAKES ME FEEL CALMER

ALL TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE JUST ADDICTED TO THE DRAMA

LOVING WHO YOU ARE IS WHAT WE NEED TO DO, AS WELL AS ACCEPTING OTHERSEVEN IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT TO YOU

Here is Livi’s poem:

Just because I am talented, doesn’t mean I brag
I am not stupid.
I am not, not caring
I am not dumb
I am just myself.

Just because I am clever, doesn’t mean I am selfish
I am not silly
I am not unhandleable
I am not incapable
I am who I want to be.

Just because I am responsible does not mean I play things by the rules
I am not idiotic
I am not a sheep
I am not hiding my passions
I am who I want to be.

Just because I am crazy, does not mean I am out of control
I am not always a stickler to the rules
I am not afraid to be myself
I am not an uncontrollable person
I am the creator to my world
