There is a vacancy for a parent governor to join the school’s very active and committed governing body and governors would like parents and carers to consider putting themselves forward to fill the position. This is a great opportunity to become involved in the work of the school. Governors are part of the Leadership and Management of the school and parent governors make a very valuable contribution to the work of the governing body and thereby to the education and well-being of our pupils.
The full governing body generally meets once a term, usually on a Thursday at 4.30pm. Meetings last around two to two and a half hours and we try to make them informal and friendly, giving everyone a chance to contribute. There are committee meetings, although not all governors need to be involved in these, and we encourage all governors to become a Link governor which entails meeting termly or annually with a member of staff responsible for a specific curriculum subject.
If you are interested or wish for further information on the work we do, please forward contact details via the School Office and I will be in touch. Alternatively, you may know one or more of our current governors who would be willing to advise.
Please do give this some thought, it would be great to welcome a new parent governor to our next meeting on Thursday 24 November
Ann Thorne
Chair of Governors.
