A special thanks to Mr Graham Land for all his valuable contributions to our governing body as a Parent Governor over the last four years. Mr Land’s term of office comes to an end this week and so a vacancy has arisen.
A letter (PG1) is going home today (Wednesday 24 January) asking for nominations, if for any reason you did not receive it you can collect a copy from the school office or download it here. PG1
The deadline for nominations is Wednesday 31 January 2018.
You might find the link and documents below useful about the role of a school governor, a parent governor has the same roles and responsibilities as any other governor, the only difference is the criteria that makes you eligible.
To be a parent governor you need to have parental responsibility for, or care for a child on roll on 24 January 2018 (in this instance), here is a list of disqualifications that mean you may not be able to stand yourself as a governor however, these do not preclude you from being able to nominate someone else.

A reminder to parents that Parent Governors are representative parents on the governing body and not parent representatives. Should you ever have cause to contact the school governors communications should be sent for the attention of the Chair of Governors (currently Dr A Thorne) care of the school, and not to parent governors.
