Hi everyone,
During the month of June I am participating in a walking challenge to raise awareness and resources for Shrewsbury Foodbank. As part of a group, we have been challenged to walk or run 100 km (63 miles) during the month of June (I’ve actually set myself the personal challenge of reaching 200km in June)! The challenge is not a sponsored event, so I’m wondering if people would instead consider making a donation of food, toiletries, cleaning products or household items instead (please see list below). There will be a box outside the school office during June which you can leave your donations in and I will drop them off at the foodbank on a regular basis.
Donations can be made directly to Shrewsbury Food Bank through Paypal or via your banking app. The relevant details are on their website here.
Shrewsbury Food Bank organises and distributes parcels of donated food, toiletries, cleaning products and household items to individuals and families every week. They seek to help those that find themselves in times of real hardship by addressing their most basic of needs – food and household items. It costs approximately £110 for the Foodbank to feed a family of four for a week, or approx. £55 to feed a family of two for a week.
Any donations will be gratefully received. Each week, the Food Bank publish a list of items they are particularly low on, as listed below:
