Monday 22nd June PE activity KS2

Hi everyone,

This week is our PE themed week so, if you haven’t been doing so already, make an extra effort this week to focus on being as fit and as healthy as you can be!

What does it mean to lead a ‘healthy lifestyle’? Think of at least five things that following a healthy lifestyle involves. Some of the ways we stay healthy include eating lots of fruit and vegetables, drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep. If you want to, you could print off this ‘healthy diary’ sheet and see if you have been doing these things today! healthy-living-diary-record-sheet

You may want to record what you eat throughout the week and reflect on whether your meals contain things from the different food groups: Healthy-Eating-My-Food-Journal

As you know, it is really important that we eat foods that are good for us and that we have a balanced diet. Have a look at the video and exercise from the BBC explaining exactly what is meant by this and how we need items from the different food groups: BBC Bitesize balanced diet

Years 3 and 4, can you sort the food cards into the different groups and put them where they need to go on the plate? You may want to add some of your own ideas too. healthy-eating-divided-plate-sorting-activity

Years 5 and 6, can you design healthy meals for some of the Mr Men below? Read carefully what each Mr Man needs and take note of his current level of health and fitness! Some of them are harder to think about than others so you may want, or need, to do a little extra research of your own.
