Today we are going to continue practising adding using the expanded column method except this time we will be adding 3 digit numbers. The process is exactly the same as adding 2 digit numbers but we just have an extra column to add.

I’ve made two PP to explain the process. Please watch them carefully so you can see how to do it. I will be doing a Live at 9am if you want to come to that to listen to me try and explain it.

Activity- Please complete one of these sheets. I have tried to differentiate the sheets.

Bronze– 3 digit numbers but no crossing into the next column.

Silver– 3 digit numbers but crossing into one column.

Gold– 3 digit number but crossing into multiple columns and as a challenge, adding 3, 3 digit numbers!
