Maths

For this week in maths we are going to be working on division. Planning for the week is the timetable I would have followed if we were in school and I was able to explain everything. Every day I will be ‘live’ reminding the children how to divide and being available to go over it. There will be separate work for those that have full understanding of division.

The aim is by the end of the week that the children can divide a four digit number by a two digit number. They will also need to be able to solve division problems when they are set out as word problems.

I am sure the children will all work at varying speeds and levels with this. I want the children to have the work set for their ability so I am going to post all of the work on google classroom rather than here. Classroom allows me to upload more files and folders so it can be more differentiated.

The stages the children need to be able to do are as follows:

Divide two digits by one (no remainders)

Divide three digits by one (no remainders)

Divide four digits by one (no remainders)

All of the above with remainders

Divide three digits by two (no remainders)

Divide four digits by two (no remainders)

The above with remainders as a number

The above with remainders as a decimal

Most of the children should be able to start with division with remainders
