Facilities

The school occupies a particularly beautiful site backing onto Pontesford Hill. The grounds incorporate a large, traditional playground, an ‘adventure’ playground, and extensive playing fields with our ‘Gruffalo Woods’ running down one side. In one corner there is a large, hedged, nature reserve that includes a secured wildlife pond. Parents, children and staff have all worked together over many weekends and evenings to create the new pond that is home to a wealth of living creatures. The outdoor environment is an essential part of our curriculum.
The school relocated to the current site on Bogey Lane in 1961, purpose built to accommodate the children living in the village and surrounding area at the time. Due to a consistently growing demand for places it has since been extended several times.

The building is light and airy, and incorporates seven classrooms, a large hall that is very well equipped for Physical Education, a well resourced reference library, a music room, and wireless available in all areas of the school. There are also attractive outdoor learning environments for the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children.

A section of the central courtyard was enclosed during late 1991 to provide a Design Technology area for the school.  The area was then totally redesigned in 2017 with a new roof and purpose built kitchen area added for class use.
The school provides an excellent environment for learning and adventure!
