Today we practised our addition and subtraction by trying some challenges with a partner. So you may need a willing partner to help at home!
Have a look at the grid below.
Circle two numbers that are next to each other. This can be horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Whoever circles the numbers can decide whether to add or subtract them. Both players then work it out using the partitioning and number line method. You should hopefully get the same answer, if not who has gone wrong? Can you fix it and explain why? Repeat with the other player choosing two numbers and deciding on the operation.

Today we continued our story, writing the sections where Om took the boy to her camp. We described everything the boy could see, hear, smell and feel around the camp. Please stop before the hunting part, we’ll do that tomorrow.
