Hello everyone,
Welcome back, it’s the start of a new year and the not so aptly named Spring Term, lots of new experiences and challenges on the way and hopefully another year of a happy school life for all our children.
We are always here to offer support to our children and their families so if you need us please ask.
School dinners
A reminder that our fabulous school kitchen is now independent of Shropshire Council (Shire Services) and we are all really excited about the changes to come. I feel sure the service provided is going to be even better this year, if you haven’t completed the survey it isn’t too late but most importantly if you want to give feedback positive or negative we value it all year round to improve the lunch time service for your child. So please drop an email to the school office with your thoughts.
School dinners remain at £2.20 a day for children, that is £11 a week.
You can pay cash, cheque (made payable to Pontesbury CE Primary School) or via School Money (through the School Shop), we have set up payments for the half term and full term as well as you having the option to pay for single days or the whole week. We do ask that you pay in advance or on the day, we don’t offer credit facilities except in exceptional circumstances. It’s so much easier now we are taking payments via School Money because if you discover in a morning you have run out of packed lunch supplies you can easily log in and pay without having to hunt for the right cash – we’ve all been there!
Contact details
If you’ve had a new phone number over the Christmas holidays please don’t forget to update us so we can continue to send important text updates or contact you in the event of an emergency.
Absence
Please can you let the school office know by 9.30am at the latest if your child is unwell, with sickness and diarrhoea we will know your child will be absent for at least 48 hours, for other illnesses or undiagnosed ailments we don’t necessarily need a daily call but an update every few days, if it persists is much appreciated.
If a child doesn’t arrive at school (especially those children who walk or come on the school bus) and we haven’t heard anything we do worry, it is our primary duty to ensure your child is safe and know where they are at all times.
Thank you for your continued support and Happy New Year to you all!
