Friday morning 3.4.20

Good morning!

Well, it’s the last day of term everyone. Well done for getting through the last week which has been really strange for us all. You have all proven yourselves to be amazing!

8.45 – 9.00: Spellings

9.00 – 9.05: Wake Up, Shake Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwKUv0L3xtc

9.05 – 10.00: Maths

Can you sort the numbers using the Venn diagram? Think carefully about which numbers go in the middle – they need to be multiples of BOTH the numbers! T2-M-313A-Venn-Diagram-Number-Multiples-Sorting-Activity-LA

If you would like a similar activity which is screen based, then try this online version: https://www.teacherled.com/iresources/charts/venns/ Make sure you choose ‘practise mode’ and then choose ’10 and 5′ as the multiples to sort. Here is a link to a more difficult game, using a Carroll diagram. We have never looked at Carroll diagrams, so children are likely to find this quite hard, but I think there are plenty of children who could quite quickly get the hang of it and are up to the challenge. Again, choose ‘practise mode’ and ’10 and 5′ as the multiples to sort: https://www.teacherled.com/iresources/charts/carrolls/

10.00 – 10.15: Break

10.15 – 11.00: English

Your first job is to do your spelling test! Let’s see who is a super speller this week!

Today would have been independent writing if we were at school. Choose to write either about Africa or about animals (senses, food chains, habitats, animal groups, minibeasts, life cycles). Give yourself 30 minutes of writing time to write as much as you can about one of the topics, writing in full sentences with capital letters and full stops. Try to get some really good words in your sentences, and link your ideas using ‘and’ or ‘because’. Can you get a whole page of writing done?!

11.00 – 11.15: Phonics

I know how you lot love a word search! Which of the graphemes in yesterday’s practice phonics screening did you get a bit wrong? Choose that grapheme and then find words in the online word search which use that grapheme. https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/phonicFinder/index.html

11.15 – 11.30: Break

11.30 – 11.40: ‘Peace Out’ https://www.cosmickids.com/category/watch/?video_category=mindfulness&changed=video_category

11.40 – 12.25: RE

Let’s think and reflect on the Easter story today and how it is so important for Christians everywhere. Use the following website to read the story together, order the events and work through the different activities. There are even some games to play afterwards. http://resources.hwb.wales.gov.uk/VTC/ngfl/re/b-dag/ngfl-container/re-unit2-en.html

Have a great morning everyone.
