Listen to Chapter 4 

Today we are going to look at using art and making poetry.  We are going to look at something called ‘blackout poetry’.  You can see examples of this at

But here is a photo to give you an idea.  So you look at a page of text and pick out some great words.  Ideally these words may be linked.  

Underline these words in pencil gently first, sometimes you may have two words such as frightened faces

Pick out about 5 or 6 good words or phrases.  

When you are happy with your words draw a box around them in black.  

Now you can use the rest of the page to make a robot related or dragon related picture.  Colouring over the rest of the text so your chosen words stand out. 

If you don’t have a printer,  or you fancy doing it a different way.  You could draw a robot or dragon picture then add your words to the picture before you colour it in.  

Try to stick to just black and white pictures so that your text stands out.   Print out one of the pages below to create your poem on.
