Today we will be looking at how to discriminate between fact and opinion. A fact is something that we know to be true, for example ‘There are other planets in our solar system.’ Whereas an opinion is a view or a judgement that someone has about something – it might be very emphatic (strong) and might sound ‘right’ but an opinion will not necessarily be a proven fact, for example ‘The best planet in our solar system is Earth.’
