We’d just like to ask parents who walk their dogs to school when dropping off or collecting their children to please be very mindful of people (and especially children) who are scared of dogs.
If you know you will need to come onto the school premises for any reason, we would ask if it’s possible to leave your dog at home on that occasion. If you do need to tie up your dog outside of school to briefly come onto the premises on an unplanned visit, please do not tie them up anywhere near the school entrances.
We have had one child who is very scared of dogs getting very upset at having to pass an unsupervised dog tied up to the school entrance gate post. While you may trust your dog implicitly, people who do not know your dog will still see danger.
Thank you to all our responsible dog-owning parents – your co-operation is much appreciated!
