This week it is Children’s Mental Health Week and it feels like this year it is more important than ever to mark this week.
The theme for this year is ‘Express Yourself’. On Thursday of this week, we will be dedicating a whole day to the creative arts and finding ways to express yourself. I will post information about this later in the week.
On Thursday we are asking children to express themselves through their choice of clothing. This is a really common way that people express their personalities and often the way we dress can have a real impact on our mood. Clothes can make us feel cosy and warm or bright and energetic. This means that for most children who are attending school, Thursday will be a non-uniform day. (Room 3, Mrs Pope’s class, you will have your non-uniform day on Friday so it does not clash with your PE session.)
Here is a little message from the patron of the charity the Duchess of Cambridge.
We hope this will be a lovely day that gives us a chance to stop and reflect on the things we love and enjoy and the things that make us happy. We also hope many of the activities you watch and try will inspire you to be creative and that you will continue with or revisit the activities over the coming weeks.
