A huge thank you to our FOPPS team for putting on a great Autumn Disco we raised
Thank you to our DJs Andy and Alex May for keeping us ‘bopping!’ Thank you also to Mrs Giles and all the staff who stayed ‘after hours’ to help with the running of the disco. Finally, thank you to you for your support. We hope all the children had a lovely time and are ready for a well-earned rest this weekend.
Thank you very much for your most generous donations for Harvest which the children took to church to be donated to the local Food Bank. (Can I take this opportunity to say if anyone does need support, we can make referrals to the Food Bank)
We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed celebrating back in St George’s Church, the singing was joyous and full of energy. 
Letters are coming home tonight. If your child would like to go to the club, please fill in the reply slip and return it direct to the Mary Webb school office.
Parents are to collect their child from outside the Science Labs at Mary Webb at 4.30pm each week (Thursdays). Please note: the club will not be running on Thursday 24th November.

On Wednesday 12th, a team of KS2 children from our school headed to Long Mountain Primary to take part in a cross-country event. It was a tough course with some equally challenging competition from pupils from other local schools! Every member of the team should be very proud of their effort, behaviour and spirit. They represented our school superbly and all received a certificate recognising their performance.
A big thank you to Mrs Davies for her help as well as all the parents who offered their taxi services!

Fetching is a free app that allows parents to manage their after-school collections and childcare in a simple and secure way. It lets parents request help with the school run from trusted friends and family chosen by the parent. The app is linked to the school so that we are automatically informed of who will collect your child.
We are using this app throughout school, hopefully helping you and us to streamline the process of after school collections. The app is a safeguarding tool because when signing up each new “fetcher” must verify their identity with a government ID (including a photograph).
We have a strong school community, who we know frequently help each other with the school run, so the aim of this is to simplify this process. It will be easier for you and much more straightforward for us.

The very helpful lady at Fetching tells me parents also use the app to arrange playdates and dog playdates so if anyone wants a dog play date please let me know! 😁
Clubs notices—all clubs are £3 – £6 per session (depending on the club) and are available to book now on School Money. If the club you wish to book isn’t showing, then it is probably fully booked (but feel free to check at the school office).
Unless indicated below, after-school clubs will run for the full 7 weeks of Autumn 2.
* Those clubs that are 6 sessions only will not be running the last week of term (Monday 12th – Friday 16th December).
The following clubs will be running during the second half of the Autumn Term (November-December) from 3.15pm to 4.15pm:

KS1 Create Club (years 1-2) £36 (18 spaces) *6 sessions only. Please note this club can only go ahead if we have a minimum of 6 pupils.

Just a little reminder, please complete and return the Flu Immunisation consent form by Friday 14th October, at the latest.
We need all consent forms back to school whether your child/children will be having the flu spray or not.

Please do not double park near school. Regardless of it not being on double yellows, a double-parked car causes traffic-flow problems, makes crossing the road even more dangerous for pedestrians and could seriously impact emergency services getting through.
Thank you to all parents who walk to school or abide by the local parking restrictions.
It’s that time of year again when the School Nurses come in to administer the flu vaccine (flu spray up the nose) to all pupils. They will be in school on Monday 14th November 2022.
Their letter and consent form will be coming home with every child this week, and the School Nurses request that you return the form to the school office within one week. They also stipulate that all forms must be completed and returned whether you wish your child to have the flu spray or not.
It would be hugely helpful if you could return the forms promptly so we (in the school office) do not need to spend a great deal of time chasing (nagging!) parents for the forms! Thank you in advance – it will be really appreciated.
