Parents and grandparents are welcome to join in the KS2 Carol Service and we hope you will all join in and sing along heartily with staff and pupils! Song sheets will be provided.
Seating may be limited as the pews in the front half of the church will be reserved for the school (so visitors may have to stand at the back).
Parents who attend can also take their children home from church – however, please make sure you inform your child’s class teacher before leaving church.

Tuesday 6th December at 9.30am

HOW PARENTS CAN BUY BOOKS IF THEY MISSED MY BOOK SIGNING
It’s often the case that parents/children forget to bring their orders in. I’m very happy to sign and post books etc to school. Any parents who would like me to do so need to:
- Visit www.luketemple.co.uk/after
- Select the book(s) they would like to buy and proceed to checkout.
- VERY IMPORTANT: in ‘Additional Information’ at checkout, include child’s name and class, school name and exact books wanted. (Without this information the order may be missed or cancelled)
- Complete the order by: 30th November 2022
Thank you
Rainbow friends
Just a quick note to say that several parents have approached me regarding a game called ‘Rainbow Friends’ and that pupils are discussing the game and drawing pictures of the characters. This is a form of Roblox (from what I understand) and is described in the following way: ‘Rainbow Friends is a Roblox horror experience that joins games like Piggy, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Poppy Playtime, and others.’ Please note that the rating on this is only 4+.
We feel, to protect everyone, Rainbow Friends is not appropriate to discuss or draw at school. I have asked staff to explain this to children. Staff will also inform you – we are not looking for this to have a ‘consequence’ but purely as a point of discussion and to make you aware.
Thank you for support.

Pop Up Christmas Larders (Christmas in the community) – Message from Good Neighbours
Dear parents,
Instead of Christmas hampers this year Good Neighbours are setting up a ‘Pop up Christmas Larder’ locally.
The aim is to provide food and Christmas goodies to those who have found themselves struggling due to the cost of living crisis or are on their own and need a little ‘Christmas Cheer’. In previous years the people of Pontesbury have always given in abundance and we are hoping that it will be the same this year. We can only do this with your help – if you would like to donate, please bring any ‘goodies’ into school, we (Good Neighbours) will collect them from the school on Monday 5th December.
Thank you from Good Neighbours Pontesbury
Suggested donations:
Festive treats (mince pies, yule logs, Christmas pudding/sponge puddings, fancy biscuits, chocolates/after dinner mints, Christmas cake, chocolate Christmas tree decorations etc)
Christmas trimmings (stuffing, bread sauce, cranberry sauce, gravy granules etc)
Christmas table (party crackers, napkins, non-alcoholic sparkling drinks, etc)
Christmas buffet (biscuits for cheese, breadsticks, chutney/pickle, pickled onions, olives, pringles/doritos/crisps, salsa, nuts etc)
Christmas Eve treats (hot chocolate, marshmallows, horlicks, ovaltine, popcorn etc)
Christmas Movie Night for pupils (FOPPS fundraiser) (*Bookings for this have now closed)
We’re having a Christmas Movie Night for the children on Thursday 8th December straight after school from 3.15pm to 5.30pm. As it’s also Christmas Lunch & Christmas Jumper Day, the children will already be in festive clothes, but they could bring along a blanket/pillow/teddy etc to snuggle up with for the movie if they would like! They will be watching Dr Zeus ‘The Grinch’ (U).
As it’s a FOPPS fundraising event, the cost is £5 per child (to cover the cost of refreshments). The booking payment is on School Money here.
Refreshments (including hot dogs) will be provided before the film starts.
Please note: If your child usually goes to an after-school club, they are fine to join halfway through the film at 4.15pm if they would like to but will have missed the refreshments. There will be no charge if they join at 4.15pm, but feel free to make a donation if you would like as it is a fundraiser. Please let the office know in advance if your child will be joining after their club. Year 6 pupils at Mary Webb’s Steam club will have to be met by parents as normal at 4.30pm.
Please note, if your child becomes bored or a distraction to others, staff reserve the right to contact their parent/carer to collect them early (and take refreshments home with them)!
