Room 4 Visit to Hoo Farm – Wednesday 6th November

Dear Parents of Room 4,

Over the next few weeks we are going to start learning about life on a farm. We are going to learn about the different farmyard animals, the jobs that farmers need to do and how this links to the Harvest, learn about where different produce comes from and turn our role play area into a Farm Shop.

As part of this topic I am planning on taking Room 4 to Hoo Farm on Wednesday 6th November. This will be a whole day trip and will give the children hands on experience of seeing the animals we have been learning about. We will also have the chance to feed some of the animals and learn from the staff about what the jobs they complete on a daily basis.

For this trip, please send your child in wearing appropriate clothing for a day outside (what the children would normally wear for Forest School is ideal) including wellies and a coat, the ground is likely to be muddy!

The cost for this visit will be £12 per pupil, which includes transport.

Many thanks,

Miss Roberts

School Office note: this letter will be coming home today – please could you return the consent form, packed lunch order form as soon as possible (with payment no later than Friday 18th October 2019). Thank you!

Missing Books

Dear Parents,

We have completed our reading book audit and unfortunately there are still 74 books missing and this is a substantial amount. These missing books have accumulated over the past two years.

We would be very grateful if you will have another really good look at home over the summer as, if we were to order all of these books, it would cost the school a significant amount of money! They are vital for us to be able to deliver the reading scheme effectively to provide the best reading experience for our pupils.

If these books are not returned and this level of depletion continues, then I will have no choice but to start charging parents for missing books.

Mr Langford

Room 4 Forest School Changes

Room 4 will not be having a Forest School session next week (week commencing 1st July) due to the ‘class change-over’ day.  (All children move up into their new classes for the day on Tuesday 2nd July to meet their new teacher and teaching assistants and spend the day together).

However, the following week (on Tuesday 9th July) the Room 4 children will be having a full Forest School day up Pontesford Hill as a treat.  Miss Roberts is sending a letter home today (Thursday 27th June) with full details.  Please could you complete the consent form and fill in the relevant parts of the school/home packed lunch part for all children, and return the form by Monday (1st July).
