Children in Need ‘Wear what you want’ day

On Friday 13 November we will once again be joining the nation in fundraising for the Children In Need campaign. So we would like to invite your child(ren) to come to school dressed in whatever they want (as long as it is decent!) we look forward to seeing party clothes, dressing up costumes, sports kits, jeans and jumpers, pyjamas, onesies whatever your child prefers. The most important part of the day is we come together and raise money for children less fortunate than ourselves.

I think this year more than ever we have so many children in the UK living in poverty, with families struggling with the many side effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have suggested a £2 donation per child and have made a £2 donation available in the School Money shop. We do however recognise that for some this may not be affordable so if you would prefer you could choose to purchase one of the Children in Need merchandise items (costing £1) from the School Money shop.

We are expecting our Children In Need delivery any day now and merchandise will be distributed as soon as it arrives.

I thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

Parking Notice

Our school has been liaising with Mary Webb Secondary School regarding the danger to our pupils and other pedestrians caused by the unsafe parking by some parents at the beginning and end of the school day.  You may have noticed the Police patrolling the area this week and leaving leaflets on poorly parked cars.  Please be reassured our liaison team will be contacting the Police in the future if the issues persist.

If you need to drive to school to drop off or pick up your child/ren, please consider other road users, pedestrians and our neighbours driveways; avoid double-parking on the local roads; and perhaps leave enough time to park a little further away and walk the last part of your journey to and from school, thus reducing congestion.

Thank you for your support in this matter.
