KS1 Colomendy Information Evening For Parents
Our adventures on the 23rd and 24th May are looming ever closer. For parents of children coming to Colomendy, I will be holding a meeting on Thursday 16th May at 3:30pm in Room 3. I will be able to share more information about sleeping arrangements and our activities. It is a perfect opportunity for you to find out more and ask any questions.

Dear Parents of Room 3,
On Thursday 21 March 2019 we will be going on a full day educational visit to Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at Charles Darwin as part of our topic on ‘Explorers’ and our science unit is ‘Animals including Humans’.
This visit will provide lots of learning opportunities to enhance both of these topics. The experts from the museum will tell us stories of Charles Darwin as a young boy and we will get to follow in his footsteps around his home town of Shrewsbury. We will learn about his life including his famous journey on the HMS Beagle. We will also be making careful scientific observations just like Charles Darwin did! The children will be able to research and examine birds, fossils, skulls, insects and shells.
Please make sure you send your child in full school uniform with suitable outdoor clothing, including a waterproof coat and suitable footwear for the weather, as we will be walking around Shrewsbury for part of the day. Therefore, it is really important that you send your child with plenty of layers including gloves, scarves and hats (if necessary).
Pupils will need a packed lunch and drinks (no fizzy drinks or glass containers please), which can be provided by school as part of their UIFSM entitlement. Please order your child’s packed lunch on the permission form attached or indicate that you will be providing your own.
The cost for this visit will be £10 per pupil, this includes transport.
Please return the attached consent form and payment no later than 9am Friday 8 March 2019.

Year 2 Parents Colomendy Meeting – Thursday 17th January
As per your ‘Dates for your Diary’ sheet, a meeting has been arranged for parents of year 2 children giving details of the Colomendy residential visit the children will be going on 23rd-24th May 2019.
The meeting will be held in Room 3 with Mrs Pittaway at 3.30pm on Thursday 17th January.

Also, over the holidays log into the Times Table Rockstar website/app using the log in details which were sent home this week and have fun designing your avatar and learning your times tables. You can even challenging your friends to see who is the quickest!

Families can book a maximum of three tickets to watch the performances at a cost of 50p per ticket. The tickets can be split across the two performances if preferred (e.g. two tickets for the Tuesday performance and one for the Thursday performance).
Once you have booked your tickets on the parents evening system online, please pay for them at the school office or we will set up an online payment. To reduce the amount of waste, thus saving the school money and the possibility of lost tickets, no paper tickets will be printed/issued. We will check you off against our list on arrival.

It will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have. I will do my very best to answer them, but of course, I will be able to give you more information at our next meeting nearer the time.
