Grace Davies and Saskia Lowe in Room 7 and Hollie Davies in Room 5 are holding a cake sale after school on Wednesday 17 October to raise money for the
“Save Pangolins” charity.
What is a Pangolin?
That is a very good question, Pangolins, often called “scaly anteaters,” are covered in tough, overlapping scales. These burrowing mammals eat ants and termites using an extraordinarily long, sticky tongue, and are able to quickly roll themselves up into a tight ball when threatened. Eight different pangolin species can be found across Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Poaching for illegal wildlife trade and habitat loss have made these incredible creatures one of the most endangered groups of mammals in the world.
It is claimed they are the most trafficked animal you have never heard of. Thanks to Grace, Saskia and Hollie you have now!
Please do support the girls, if you can, in their efforts to raise awareness for the pangolin in the hope that they can help save this endangered animal.
