Spring blossoms in the Secret Garden
The Pavilion, together with the Community Library at Pontesbury and Friends of Pontesbury Library, invite you to join us to decorate the Pavilion ‘Secret Garden’ to bring an early spring of colour and joy for library customers and the surrounding communities.
What shall I make? We need pink, white, yellow and blue flowers, green leaves, birds, bees, butterflies and insects. We will also need yards of green i-cords/plaited green wool for the blossom to be attached to.
Flowers can be made in any medium using any weatherproof material – wool, metal, wire, wood even willow. You could knit, crochet, felt, make pom-poms, weave, carve…. You could even learn a new skill during lockdown!
We have a list of websites, patterns and places to learn techniques to inspire you. Books are also available to click and collect from the library. Click on the link for further details: Website flower patterns and other info
How do I take part? It would be great for us to know that you are taking part so please email us at admin@pontesburypavilion.co.uk. We can then plan the display. Tell us how you are planning to get involved and send us any patterns & photos that you want to share to inspire people to take part.
When do you want contributions? Please let us have your contributions by Friday 12th February. The aim is to open the garden on Saturday 20th February as an open weekend event. We appreciate that this may well have to be pushed back depending on government guidelines so keep an eye on the Pavilion/FOPL websites for more information. We will have procedures in place to ensure that you can hand in your makings/visit the garden safely – watch the websites below for more information.
Spread the word! Please let anyone else you think may want to get involved know about the project using social media or by forwarding this email.
