It has been brought to our attention that some parents are parking their vehicles on pavements when dropping off/collecting their children. The particular case today was especially bad as there were several cars parked on the pavement going round a blind corner (with no room left between the car and the hedge) so an elderly lady had to pass the cars by walking on the road (obviously even more dangerous than usual given that it was on a corner). Rule 243 of the Highway code states drivers must not stop, park or abandon a vehicle on a road bend.
Please do not obstruct the pavements when parking near the school. With children from two schools walking to and from schools (as well as local residents and families with pushchairs) and the increase in traffic at these times, it is essential they all have unobstructed use of the pavements for obvious safety reasons.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
