The village is hosting a ‘Great British Tea Party’ on Friday 20th August at Pontesbury Public Hall. The theme is ‘Being British and getting through a crisis’
The organisers want to decorate the hall and we would very much like the children to help with this.
They need Union Jack bunting – pictures of flags, the queen let your imaginations run wild. I have found a template (courtesy of Twinkl) which you can download here. Bunting can be made from thin card or fabric or any other medium you can think of. I don’t recommend plain copier paper because I think it would be too thin and probably curl so not show your designs off to the full!
Some of the designs you did for the Royal Mail competition would be wonderful on bunting (although maybe give Boris a miss)
Unlike the Royal Mail competition their is no age limit on contributing to this lovely event so if parents want to get crafty too your contributions would also be very much appreciated.
Please bring you bunting flags to the school office by Monday 19 July, if you wish to make a string of bunting that would be great, but we welcome individual flags too which can be made into a string of bun ting alongside other children’s designs.
Please ask at the school office if you would like a thin card template. I’m sure we can help you out!
Community Good Neighbours are looking for Befrienders.
The role entails being matched with someone who is incredibly lonely and just needs a chat, coffee or a visit once a week. You would become part of the group and have training and we will pay for a DBS. It’s an incredibly rewarding role. Please contact Rob or Helen 07944 891953
