This week for English we are continuing our work on adventure stories. Last week we looked at two story starts and the introduction of a dilemma. We did this by identifying features of the given stories before trying to incorporate those ideas into our own stories.

This week will follow the same pattern of a reading/looking day followed by a writing day. If you want to move through this quicker you can. For today’s lesson and for Wednesday’s it will be really useful if you can join the teams meeting as it is hard to discuss the text when you are on your own at home.

Read the next bit of Mac story. In teams we will discuss the characters and what we know about them. This will then need to be written up in full sentences.

Then look at Character description. Edit this so that you change the character completely. You can either save a copy of this to edit it on your own or work on a shared copy with the whole class. Everyone that chooses to work as a large group need to remember to be sensible. Large chunks of work are not to be deleted and you should only change things to improve the overall work.

Tomorrow you will be working on your own story making sure you describe your character.
