Dears Parents and Carers
Please find the link below which will take you to an information page about our home learning offer.
This information also contains a list of protocols and expectations to ensure that all our children’s home learning is as productive as possible; I will also include these at the bottom of this post.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all parents for supporting us as we navigate through all the Covid-19 pandemic throws at us. I know, as a parent, how very difficult home teaching is. Trying to motivate one’s own to knuckle down whilst trying to continue with your own tasks is no mean feat and can cause tremendous stress.
As a school we will therefore be developing new processes to ensure our engagement with all our pupils is as close to the normal classroom experience as possible. Instead of simply posting work and tasks, staff are already using programs such as Microsoft Powerpoint presentations, with video or audio instruction, to directly teach children new curricular work and, in some classes, starting to explore the possibilities of using Microsoft Teams to teach the children directly.
We don not know when we will be back to welcoming the return of all pupils; it may well be many weeks if not months. Our aim, as we move forward, is to support all our families to facilitate home learning so that it is less onerous and daunting for parents and carers whilst ensuring the disruption to our children’s education is reduced as much as possible.
As always, if you wish to provide feedback or make comment about our home learning provision, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Have a super weekend and please stay safe.

Parents
When my child is online at home whilst learning I will…
- Monitor my child’s internet use and check that they are using technology safely.
- Check my online protection systems to ensure their time online is as safe as possible.
- Check that they understand the task they have been set and support with any technical issues or resources needed.

Staff
When posting work online I will…
- Follow the same safeguarding protocols as at school. If I have a concern about a child, I shall report this to the school DSL (designated safeguarding lead).
- Ensure the work I am setting is safely accessible for all children.
- Ensure the tasks I am setting are well signposted online and children are able to find them without difficulty.
- When using websites, I will have checked these prior to setting the work to be certain these are safe and appropriate.
- Be contactable via email/Teams or Tapestry during learning times to help parents and children with any difficulties they may encounter – although this might not be immediate.
- Respond to children’s work and provide them with feedback at given times during the day.
- Ensure that parents understand that if on some days they are not able to support their child with all of their remote learning that this is fine and completely understandable

- All children are expected to ask for help if they need it.
