I will be sending spelling words home on Fridays. Children need to work on learning these at home and then be ready for their spelling test the following Friday. I do not expect them to bring evidence of their spelling practice into school with them – this is homework and I am very happy for them to work on their spellings in the way that best suits them. If you are struggling to support your child at home with spellings, please let me know and I will do my best to make some helpful suggestions.
Most of the words in the list will follow a clear spelling pattern e.g. ar and are words but I will also include a selection of words from the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 word lists. The documents below contains the full list:

If your child is finding their spelling list really hard or really easy, then I have probably made a mistake! I will be placing them in groups for their spellings but do let me know if you notice they are really struggling or finding them terribly easy – I will adjust accordingly!
