Everybody in Room 8 has chosen a book today. This is a book that they were interested in and that they fancied reading. It is not a ‘levelled’ book that necessarily matches their reading age. If they are finding it tricky, please reassure them and read it to them. I am not expecting every child to be reading the book they chose today independently.

Over the next week or so, I will hear all the children read and will get them a book that is well-matched to their understanding and reading confidence level.

Our class book for the next few weeks is The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates. It is a hoot! I laughed so much reading it that I couldn’t wait to share it with the class. Here is taster so you have an idea what we are giggling about!
