Thursday 21st May

Good morning everybody,

I hope you we able to make the most of the sunshine yesterday.  It certainly was a lovely, sunny day.

Morning Maths:

Today I’d like you to have another quick reminder of the relationship between multiplication and division. Have a little look at this sheet.  Can you spot were the largest number is in each calculation?  Can you explain why?

Remember if you are looking at year 1 or year 3 maths they are on Mr Morris’s post from Monday.

Here is your activity:

English/DT:

Today you will need to have have an adult with you for English/D&T.

I would like you to do a little recipe reading and following!

Please do not go to the shops to buy ingredients, just use what you have in the house.

Please find your favourite recipe for anything your family likes to cook.  I’m sure you will have a recipe book or two you can have a look through.  If not, I have included a link below to some nice recipe sites.

When you have found a recipe that you fancy making, I’d like you to read the recipe carefully and find these features.

  • Title
  • introduction
  • You will need list
  • Instructions
  • Pictures
  • Useful tips (if they have one)
  • Bossy verbs (doing words)

Then I would like you to follow the recipe and make something delicious.

If it is not a good day to be cooking, perhaps you can make your own sandwich for lunch if you have an adult with you.

Please send a picture of what you have made, I loved seeing all of your different smoothies. Have safe fun!

Spellings:

Your final practise before the test tomorrow!

Try writing them big, writing them small, writing them without looking at all!

Reading:

Please read a little more of your reading book.

Then relax, this is a particular favourite in our house, I’m pretty sure I have read it about 1000 times!

On Thursday afternoons we usually do RE.

Last week you made your booklets showing the Christian story of creation.  This week we are going to continue thinking about this Bible Story.

Have a look at this PowerPoint.

Lesson Presentation

As it says in the presentation, I’d like you to draw what you would normally do on a Sunday to show it is a special day. I know that, at the moment, things are very different, but maybe you used to go to church or have a lovely family Sunday lunch.

Have a lovely day everybody.

Let me know how you get on.
