English

Today I’d like you to use your story plan to write the first Chapter of your story.  Make sure you use lots of description for your characters, what are they like – particularly Stanley?  Then describe the setting where your story takes place – mine would be the park, so I’d think about it being a beautiful day – I’d describe everything using my senses – what could Stanley, see, hear, smell, feel? Try to include good 2 adjective sentences, similes and try to add extra details using those relative clauses (using which in particular).

Make sure you just do the beginning don’t get carried away and rush to the exciting part, take your time on the build up as that’s what makes a good exciting story.

If you feel that your children may need extra support, if they’re finding the maths tricky, or an extra challenge maybe, then Mr Morris has kindly put the links to all of the year groups work on the School News section of the website. He has put on the whole week’s work so you can open and print in one go, as we appreciate this may be easier for parents when it comes to printing them off.

Computing

Please continue to add to either your book reviews or your Lockdown Diary – It was wonderful to read through these last week and it was lovely to see so many pictures, sound recordings and even videos! I’ve missed all your smiling faces so much, so it was lovely to see how you’re getting on and even hear your voices.  Please take some time to read through each others books and book reviews.

Art

We would normally have art time on a Wednesday so please have some creative time, mindfulness colouring, natural art (Mrs Rowe has posted some nice photos and videos on school news), maybe design a book cover for your Flat Stanley story, just have some nice relaxing fun.
