Thursday 19th March

Good morning,

Morning Maths- practise your 10 times tables.  Remember to practise both times and divide questions.

10 x 4=      30÷10=     7×10=  100÷10=  etc

For maths this morning I would like you to have a look at reading scales in millilitres and litres.  If you have a kitchen jug, have a look at the scale on the side and have a go at reading it.  Fill it up with different  amounts of water and read the scale.  Make sure you find out how many millilitres are in 1 litre.

When you have done this, have a go at one of the sheets below.  Remember, you don’t need to print it, just write the answers in your Home Workbook.

Make sure you look at the scale on the jugs as they are different.

Roald.Dahl_The-Enormous-Crocodile.pdf – Rahnuma eBooks Library

Can you look at the pictures of the jungle setting and write a description of what it might look like. Remember to use plenty of adjectives and expanded noun phrases (adjective, adjective noun) to describe what you see. eg

giant, brown tree trunks

soft, dappled sunshine

Remember to use the , between the adjectives.

You need to have written in sentences, with capital letters and full stops. You could try looking on the internet for some jungle pictures if you have an adult with you to make sure you are searching safely.

For your science work I would like you to choose an African animal.

I would like you to research the habitat it lives in, what it eats, what are its predators or prey.  How is it camouflaged, whether it is in danger and what kind of creature it is – mammal, reptile etc.  You might want to think about drawing and labelling diagrams of it’s life cycle or habitat. Take notes today. Tomorrow you can write it up as a report or a poster with lots of drawings and facts.

I hope you all have a lovely day.  Stay safe and well and email me any time.
