We did not receive any nominations in the recent election to fill the vacant Parent Governor position. Consequently, Governors can now appoint a Parent Governor and we wish to invite any parent, primary carer or grandparent of a child at the school to put themselves forward by contacting either myself or Mr Langford, c/o the school. This is far less daunting than an election.
If you are interested or wish for further information on the work we do, times of meetings etc., please forward contact details via the school office and I will respond. Alternatively, you may know one or more of our current governors who would be willing to advise.
Disqualification criteria do apply (Information on these can be obtained from the school office and was provided along with the recent election nomination papers). Should more than one person express a firm interest then governors will offer the position to the person whose skills and expertise best complements those of the other governors.
Governors would like to make an appointment as soon as possible so would welcome applications by end of this term. However, until the appointment is ratified at our next meeting on 28th June the new governor would be unable to assume any governor roles and responsibilities until after then.
This is a great opportunity to become involved in the work of the school. Governors are part of the Leadership and Management of the school and parent governors make a very valuable contribution to the work of the governing body and thereby to the education and well-being of our pupils.
Ann Thorne
Chair of Governors.
