22.6.20 PE activity

Hi everyone,

This week is our PE themed week so, if you haven’t been doing so already, make an extra effort this week to focus on being as fit and as healthy as you can be!

Have a chat about what ‘healthy’ means. How can we make sure we stay healthy, fit and strong?!

One of the ways we stay healthy is to eat lots of fruit and vegetables, drink plenty of water and get enough sleep. If you want to, you could print off this ‘healthy diary’ sheet and see if you have been doing these things today! healthy-living-diary-record-sheet

Do you know why we need to eat fruit and veg? Have a watch of this video which explains how fruits and vegetables contain so many vitamins and minerals, and why they are so good for us: the importance of fruit and veg

Have fun designing a healthy packed lunch which includes lots of yummy fruit and vegetables. Think carefully too about the sort of drink you would have and your dessert. You may want to use the given pictures or come up with your own: healthy lunch box activity.

Of course, it is also very important that we get enough exercise. This afternoon, see if you can set yourself up a circuit of activities in your garden. Here are some cards with ideas on which may be helpful: pe-1-fitness-challenge-cards

Try to make sure you do at least 30 minutes of exercise which gets your heart beating faster! If you have a stopwatch, you could time yourself doing a different activity for 1 or 2 minutes at a time before swapping to the next activity.
